George Dickel
15-Year Tennessee Single Barrel Whisky - Tullahoma, Tennessee, USA
Out of the bottle, the aroma features classic Dickel scents of cherry, apple, and vanilla custard. More unique is the whiskey’s backbone of musty oak. Where that scent can come across as off-putting in some whiskeys, the application here provides intrigue and texture. Notes of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry work so well in conjunction with one another.
When combined with heavy musty oak that can only result from many years of aging in a barrel, the result is a whiskey that uses its age to expert effect.

Uncle Nearest
Tennessee Whiskey
Nashville, Tennessee
Uncle Nearest whiskey is named for the first known African-American master distiller Nathan “Nearest” Green, a former slave who, by all accounts, taught Jack Daniel everything there was to know about whiskey distillation.

There is no age statement on the bottle but is widely considered to be about seven years old. Filtered first through maple charcoal and then through natural coconut shell carbon, it has a surprising amount of depth and texture and, at 93 proof, shows a prominent corn sweetness and layers of vanilla and toffee.
